Hal & Mal's - 200 South Commerce Street

The newest entry into Jackson's brunch bunch, Hal & Mal's - known for their evening hours and entertainment offerings - is fast becoming a Saturday and Sunday morning favorite. The stars here are the tamale burrito, fried oyster Benedict, sweet potato pancakes and the pitcher (yes, pitcher) of tater tots. See the full menu here.

Estelle - 407 South Congress Street

Located at The Westin Jackson, Estelle's brunch dishes include everything from flatbreads to Benedicts, an omelet station or a burger. Estelle offers bottomless cocktails - a classic Mimosa, Kir Royale, Bloody Mary or the Sweet Estelle – made with wine, pomegranate and strawberry. Visit their website at estellejackson.com.

Crazy Cat Eat Up - 1491 Canton Mart Road

Served Saturday and Sunday, Crazy Cat's brunch menu has that elevated, yet down-home, "grandma's kitchen" sort of feeling. Menu items include classics like biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls and grits. But the menu goes beyond: look for country ham and gouda quiche and short rib hash topped with a fried egg. Mimosas? The Bean - 2914 North State Street

Evolving from a "coffee shop with Saturday breakfast" to a full menu daily, Saturday brunch at The Bean includes classics such as steel-cut oatmeal, avocado toast and a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich. The café also offers a unique breakfast bowl, made with breakfast potatoes or gouda cheese grits, scrambled egg, green onions, shredded cheddar and Country-Pleasin sausage. Iron Horse Grill - 320 West Pearl Street

At Iron Horse on Sundays, the dining room is lined with chef stations set up for your made-to-order omelets and waffles. Choose from a combination of meats, cheeses and veggies. Or, opt for a fluffy, Belgian waffle topped with maple syrup, fruit and nuts - or all of the above. Sunflower Oven - 752 North Jefferson Street

Sunday brunch (9 am - 3 pm) at Sunflower Oven is only place in Jackson to get freshly-baked bagels and house-cured lox. They also make quiche, salads featuring seasonal produce from Jackson-area farms, and inventive sandwiches on their fresh breads. All breads and pastries are made with flour that is grown and milled in the South, bringing a whole new meaning to eating local. CHAR - 4500 I-55 North

Start Saturday and Sunday brunch at Char with crab cakes or custard-fried French toast or chicken and waffles for your main dish. Seafood and fish options are available as well, such as pan-seared Atlantic salmon and the crawfish, lump crab, and Andouille sausage creole sauté. LA COUR KITCHEN AND BAR - 4500 I-55 NORTH

Inspired by the brasseries of Paris, influences of French, Continental, and New American cuisines show up in weekend brunch at La Cour. SALTINE RESTAURANT - 622 Duling Avenue

Saltine's classics like pancakes and biscuits and gravy are available, but the brunch menu also offers goat cheese grits, chicken biscuits, smoked salmon tartine, and a giant homemade cinnamon roll that might be bigger than your head. Of course, oysters are also available for brunch, and they include citrus butter, bacon, and quail eggs. Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and French 75s are also available. BRAVO! Italian Bar & Restaurant - 4500 I-55 North

Enjoy New Orleans style shrimp and grits, blackened redfish Benedict, crab cakes, or the breakfast pizza, which includes bechamel white sauce, mozzarella, bacon, Italian sausage, caramelized onions, and scrambled eggs to top it off.
