The Bean, Soulé Coffee + Bubbletea, and Cups Espresso Cafe are perfect for handcrafted beverages and scratch-made treats in historic Fondren. Jackson's bookstores are a haven of comfy couches and shelves of the world's greatest stories. Renowned Lemuria Books in Banner Hall is a must-see for their extensive American South collection, the land of "Oz" for young readers, first and signed editions, and much more. For a treasure trove of gently used and new books, check out The Book Rack in Canton Mart Square, and find local history and storytelling alike in the Historic Farish Street District at Marshall's Music and Book Store.

The Mississippi Museum of Art features exquisite permanent and rotating exhibits from around the state and globe. Jackson has no shortage of outstanding movies, plays, and musical performances every month. First established in 1939, Fondren's Capri Theatre has all the latest updates, including plush reclining seats and a full food and beverage menu, to get cozy and watch Hollywood's biggest releases. New Stage Theatre and the theatre departments of Millsaps College, JSU, and Belhaven University offer applause-worthy playbills from Off Broadway and more. Stay tuned to the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra's calendar for tickets to intimate concerts around Jackson, including their candlelight series.
