The Dixie National Rodeo is set to bring a mix of competition and entertainment to Jackson, Mississippi, in 2025. Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson, alongside key partners and sponsors, unveiled plans for the upcoming event, which is anticipated to draw considerable attention for the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River.

The Dixie National Rodeo prides itself on being among the top 60 professional rodeos globally, attracting around 900 contestants worldwide. Rorey Lemmel of Harper and Morgan Rodeo Company emphasized the event's significance in the rodeo community. The involvement of Southern AgCredit as the title sponsor and Deviney Equipment of Madison sponsoring through Kubota as the official tractor highlights the rodeo's strong ties with the agricultural sector.

During the announcement, Commissioner Gipson revealed the lineup of musical artists scheduled to perform, including Sam Barber, George Birge, Lorrie Morgan, Clay Walker, Zach Top, Ella Langley, and Gretchen Wilson. These award-winning musicians are expected to enhance the rodeo's appeal, with concert tickets going on sale in late October 2024.

A notable addition to the 2025 rodeo is the inclusion of a high school rodeo event, providing a platform for Mississippi's high school contestants to compete alongside professional world champions. This initiative aims to foster young talent and offer them a pathway to national competitions.

The Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo extends beyond rodeo competitions, featuring junior and open livestock shows, equestrian events, and a parade, among other attractions. Commissioner Gipson's call to the public to purchase tickets in advance highlights the event's anticipated appeal and its contribution to enhancing the rodeo experience.
