Founded 28 years ago by high school friends and business partners Dan Blumenthal and Jeff Good, BRAVO! is Italian cooking, redefined. The hearty fare here goes well beyond noodles and sauce. Seasoned chefs prepare amazing and mouthwatering steaks, chops and seafood on this menu, along with signature wood-fired oven pizzas, salads and pasta dishes. This charmer in the courtyard at Highland Village brings a Mediterranean slant to the spot. Here, Chef Alex Eaton distills quality ingredients, world travels and nuanced flavors to their essence for simplicity that sings. Counter service, the fresh and casual feel, a limited but enticing bar and a menu that intrigues rather than overwhelms all work in harmony.

Lebanese, Greek and Italian cuisines flavor the menu. Hummus, stuffed grape leaves, wraps, Greek salad, and a half dozen pizza selections cruise past those influences with a tasty nod and a friendly wave. Established in 1995, The Beagle Bagel Café is a family-owned and operated restaurant with a deli menu including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catering services. Tuk Tuk Boom

Thai & sushi fast-casual dining and take-out is the newest offering at Highland Village. In the former Stride Rite Shoes, below BRAVO! and across from Beagle Bagel, “Tuk Tuk” offers a Ferris Company-designed, modest dining space that opens to the covered South Plaza, assuring year-round dining. Beyond the setup, the food is inspired by owner Will Puckett’s trip to Thailand, curated by Chef Craig Hamilton and sous chef Soi Ha. Coffee Prose

Coffee Prose began serving in Midtown Jackson in February 2019. Since that time, they’ve honed a menu of delightfully delicious drinks, all while slinging used books as part of their model. Specialty lattes with literary inspiration – Moby Dick, My Dog Sip and The Gatsby among them – are served alongside locally pre-prepared baked goods and entrees.
