Event Submission Guidelines

Our Calendar of Events

Our calendar is designed to keep both potential visitors and locals informed about everything the "City With Soul" has to offer. It exclusively features events happening in Jackson and aims to:

• Promote our tourism and hospitality industry
• Assist with trip planning
• Increase economic impact through visits to Jackson
• Showcase a positive image of Jackson and highlight events, with a focus on supporting our partners

When Submitting an Event

• Eligible Events: Events must be sponsored, supported, or hosted by Visit Jackson community partners. They should celebrate Jackson’s hospitality, history, culture, cuisine, sports, concerts, theater, museum exhibits, seasonal events, or festivals within the city limits.
• Ineligible Events: Real estate open houses, small group meetings, happy hours, sales, or any event deemed inappropriate by Visit Jackson will not be listed.
• Open to the Public: All submitted events must be open to the public, either free or ticketed.

Submission Guidelines

• Approval Process: Submitting your event does not guarantee its listing. Events go through an approval process, which can take up to 3 business days.
• Avoid Duplication: Check the calendar before submitting to ensure your event isn’t already listed.
• Event Details: Event dates, times, and locations should be final. If changes occur, email us, and we’ll update the listing.

Descriptions

• Use sentence form (avoid all caps).
• Focus only on the event itself. Do not include times, costs, dates, or phone numbers in the description—there are designated fields for these details.
  
  Photography Requirements

• Submit a high-quality, landscape-oriented photo (3:2 ratio) with a resolution of at least 1280x853 and a file size under 1MB.
• Portrait-oriented photos, event flyers, or logos will not be accepted.
• By submitting a photo, you confirm you own the rights to it and allow Visit Jackson to use it for promotional purposes.
  

Timing

Submit events at least two weeks in advance to allow for adequate public notice.

Other Notes

• Visit Jackson reserves the right to edit event descriptions.
• Visit Jackson is not responsible for errors in submitted content.
• Submission does not guarantee acceptance. Visit Jackson reserves the right to accept or decline any event for any reason.
