Battle of the Saxes

Overview

A smooth jazz concert featuring two highly acclaimed jazz saxophonists, Marcus Anderson and Tiger Rogers. It will highlight the arts in the Jackson Metropolitan area. This is a fundraiser supporting WJSU-FM 88.5, Mississippi's only full-time jazz radio station. Grab your friends and enjoy the soulful sounds of smooth jazz, delightful refreshments, and a cash bar. Each year, WJSU will highlight a deserving jazz enthusiast to commend for their tireless contributions to the arts. Our 2025 honoree is bassist, composer, and cultural ambassador Raphael Semmes. Last year's concert left attendees asking for an encore. Don't miss this prestigious event.
