Jackson Airport Named a Travel + Leisure Favorite

The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) has announced that Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) has been honored as one of the “Top 10 Favorite Domestic Airports of 2023” by Travel + Leisure readers. The results were derived from “The World’s Best Awards 2023” survey, conducted by Travel + Leisure from October 24, 2022, through February 27, 2023. The prestigious recognition highlights JAN's commitment to providing exceptional service, convenience, and an outstanding travel experience.
"This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire team and the many partners at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport," said Rosa M. Beckett, JMAA Chief Executive Officer. "We do not take our goal to ‘Be the Airport of Choice’ lightly and are working closely with our airlines and other airport partners to enhance facilities, amenities, and accessibility to provide the best in customer experiences here at JAN."
In Travel + Leisure's annual World's Best Awards survey, readers were asked to rate their favorite domestic airports based on key criteria such as access, check-in/security, restaurants/bars, shopping, and design. With a focus on convenience, including short security lines, abundant parking, and easy-to-navigate terminals, JAN impressed travelers and secured the 10th position on the esteemed list.
JMAA invites customers to indulge in national and locally flavored cuisines and beverages available at the Riverbanks Bar & Grill (West Concourse, open from 6:00 am until 30 minutes after the last flight), the SunRise Café (East Concourse, open from 5:00 am until 11:00 am), and the Samuel Adams Jackson Brewhouse (East Concourse, open from 9:30 am until the last departure).
JMAA offers a vast array of daily air service from JAN to the largest global hubs, with hundreds of connections, worldwide. Delta Air Lines (DL), celebrating 94 years in Jackson, will operate up to six (6) daily flights to the world’s #1 hub airport of Atlanta (ATL). Southwest Airlines (WN) returned to JAN in 2021, and now flies up to seven (7) flightsdaily to Atlanta, Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Houston (HOU), and weekend flights to Orlando (MCO), with hundreds of connections beyond these key airports.
American Airlines (AA) has increased service to their Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) and Charlotte (CLT) hubs and continuethe nonstop to the nation’s capital airport, Washington- Reagan National (DCA). All totaled, American has up to nine (9) daily flights on peak days. United (UA) operates three (3) daily flights to Houston-Bush (IAH), with flights to six (6) continents from there.

JAN is the busiest airport in Mississippi, situated in the Central part ofthe state and serving the Capital region of Jackson with over 3,000 acres of property.
