Visit Jackson Website Nominated for National Travel Award

Visit Jackson's destination website, VisitJackson.com, is in the running for a national travel award.
The Destiny Awards recognize U.S. Travel Association members for excellence and creative accomplishment in marketing and promotion at the local and regional level.
A 14-member judging panel will choose the winner prior to the August 9, 2022, ceremony in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
VisitAustin.org and VisitStPeteClearwater.com are also in the running for destination website of the year in the ceremony, which also honors social media, innovation and advertising.
"From planning to launch, it took over a year to get the site we desired," said Jonathan Pettus, Vice President of Marketing for Visit Jackson. "This process was truly a labor of love for our entire marketing team. I couldn't be more proud of our new site and my team that made this a reality."
Since launching the new website, performance has improved exponentially. VisitJackson.com has seen a 446% increase in organic traffic, and the average session duration has increased by 36 seconds.

VisitJackson.com, launched on February 7, 2022, showcases a vibrant and vast collection of Jackson's people, restaurants, lodging, museums, music, art, civil rights, literature, and sports through robust listings, articles and a calendar of events. Innovative digital tools include a site-wide search, a trip planning tool, interactive mapping and accessibility features that make the site ADA-compatible.
Visit Jackson built the site in partnership with Philadelphia, PA-based Tempest, a multifaceted agency and destination organization advocate that strengthens communities through the innovation and activation of web, marketing, and cloud software solutions.
