The South’s most modern livestock facility is located on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds in Jackson, Mississippi. The location is only two blocks off I-55 and two miles from I-20. Direct ramps from the interstate make livestock trailers access an easy task. This building is used every week for cattle shows, horse shows, sales of all types and as a Christmas market place.
This modern facility is an all-season arena with large capacity seating. The seating arrangement is one of its most versatile features where a crowd of 6,500 can view a rodeo, circus or ice show. Up to 3,500 temporary seats are available for concerts.
All reservations must be made thirty (30) days in advance. Money orders, cashier’s check or business checks only. No personal checks. Balance is due at the time of reservation. Due to regular weekly scheduling activities at each gymnasium, availability is limited for weekly reservations.
Providence Hill Farm is a 1,250-acre retreat set on beautiful rolling hills in central Mississippi. Built as a family escape, the property has every amenity for the exceptional sporting life. The sporting clay range is the best in the Deep South with 14 stations mimicking many different species of fowl and game, a duck flush set over water and a new five-stand clay range. There are also full skeet and trap ranges, an 800-yard rifle range and a pistol range. For the archer, there is a 24-target 3-D archery range.
This historical venue was originally built in 1950 is owned and operated by Jackson State University. After expanding in 1980, and more recent modifications it now accommodates 44,215 people with bleacher seating. This great facility's horseshoe configuration is ideally suited for sporting events, concerts and other performance events.
The JSU Recreation Complex offers some of the most popular and participated in programs and services at JSU. Recreation space includes the 95,000 square foot Walter Payton Center, 12 outdoor tennis courts, outdoor track, indoor pool, and 2 outdoor fields.
