Jackson Mayor Chokwe Lumumba has issued an executive order, requiring all businesses and individuals in public - indoors and out - in the City of Jackson to wear facial coverings or incur citations/tickets or temporary business shutdown. The latest local information is available at visitjackson.com/safertravel.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to Mississippi’s scenic outdoors and numerous tourism offerings throughout the state. Guests are advised to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines while both traveling to and visiting our beautiful state. Safe practices include washing hands regularly with soap and water, minimizing close contact with others, maintaining a minimum of six feet of social distance from others, and wearing masks where mandated.
Visitors are also encouraged to stay informed of additional public health guidance on the state level and in Jackson to minimize risk to themselves and others.
We will do our part to ensure all visitors can experience the joy of traveling to Mississippi. We thank you for doing yours.
Explore the City Get outside and take in all JXN has to offer! That could look like one of these amazing activities like kayaking or strolling the newly opened Jackson Zoo. Or, chart your own course with public art in mind. Our Google art map shows you where to go. The Mississippi Museum of Art is noted there with many outdoor pieces and, soon, a new exhibit can be found in the museum's gardens. Park yourself at the urban oasis that is LeFleur's Bluff and embrace the natural beauty. Or, hit up local tour guide Jane Jones and have her customize a guided tour itinerary just for you (walking shoes not included).
Hotels Our major hotels as well as boutique hotels are following industry-standard COVID-19 sanitation procedures. Individual properties are using methods consistent with industry-standard recommendations. Consult your preferred property for their current protocols. See a list of where to stay here.
